The show must go on! Obviously the on going fuel shortage in Nigeria did not stop the prestigious Africa Fashion Week Nigeria from taking place last weekend. With designers from all over the motherland, here are a few runway pieces that caught my eye via social media.
It was evident that Ghana’s Elikem Kumordzie The Tailor showcased some pretty risque pieces. These two stood out for me. Would it be something I would go for? … Maybe
Another badass from Ghana, Lumiere Couture’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection titled Identity did not go unnoticed on the runway. The collection was apparently inspired by “A modern day vintage woman who lives on the edge” Love it!
Toyin Lawani creative director of the brand Elegantè by Tiannah Styling showed off pieces from her Iro and Buba collection inspired from the 60’s era. Another interesting collection was her children’s collection, Elegantè kids. Now, it is very hard to organise and pull off a runway show with kids as models. Kudos to her
