The MTV Africa Music Awards is arguably one of the biggest award shows on the continent. So its only right that our African celebrities dress the part. Today we are going to take a look at the classy, tacky, fabulous, elegant and all the adjectives under the sun you can think of to describe outfit choices.
First up is South African Model and Actress Pearl Thusi. She obviously looked stunning in this blue Zarth gown. Plus her afro hair was everything!
Although black may be assumed as a safe redcarpet outfit color choice, Mtv Base VJ Stephanie Coker’s Quiteria &George gown was just fab.
Can I say AKA was just LAZY in choosing his outfit. He’s always known to be on point 90% of the time. Hmmm lets just blame it on him becoming a new parent.
It was couples galore for new lovebirds Cassper Nyovest & Boity Thulo and Dbanj & Bonang Matheba (who by the way is my sister and also my bff in my head)
Aww love, hopefully they would last.
Moving on, Tanzanian Singer and VJ Vanessa Mdee obviously had “no basics ” written all over with this eye catching purple braids and slit cut outfit
Other stunners in slit cut dresses was Mtv Base VJ and artiste Nomuzi Mabena who also wore a Quiteria & George design and Nigerian OAP and Actress Maria Okan in a Wanasambo outfit
I’m a little disappointed that Ghana’s very own OAP Caroline Sampson did not rock an outfit from a Ghanaian designer, either way she still looked lovely in an Ejiro Amos Tafiri gown
L-R Maria Okan, Caroline Sampson and Liz Awoyli
Heeey look it’s Sisqo from Dru Hill, oh wait it’s South African OAP Cyprian Ndlovu. What in the world was he thinking!
Another guy with a questionable outfit choice was rapper Ricky Rick Errm is that a life jacket?
Now a breath of fresh air, Dbanj, Khuli Chana, PatoRanking, and P Square prove that guys can equally “kill it” on the red carpet
Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas wore an outfit by She by Bena
Nigerian OAP, Dotun’s outfit choice was very unique, I actually love it.
Other looks of the night included:
Diamond Platinumz from Tanzanian
Seyi Shay in Iconic Invanity
Also in Iconic Invanity was Yemi Alade
