Can you believe Vlisco has been around for 170 years? In light of this milestone, the textile brand are not only paying tribute to the fabulous women of Africa but also unveiled eight (8) dynamic women from the continent to be the new faces of the brand as they turn 170

They include:

Ghanaian media entrepreneur Anita Erskine

Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo

Nigerian designer Ejiro Amos Tafiri

Esther Aziable (a trader from Togo)

Nigerian entreprenuer Zainab Bako Oriola

Ivorian Trader Elisabeth N’cho

Patricia Nzolantima (an entrepreneur from DRC)

Celestina Obasi  (trader from Nigeria)

In Ghana, the birthday celebrations was held yesterday 

In other news Anita Erskine who is one of the faces of the brand seems to changing the world in her own way. Under the auspices of her Brand Woman Africa initiative, a young girl named Najaat Hussein would get to be the first female in her family to attend University. Exciting right?
