You know Delay always asks the juiciest questions right? The Ghanaian media personality is back with another interesting episode of the Delay Show. This time she interviews music star Mz Vee.

The duo chat about  her experience at the BET Awards, if she deserved to be nominated, her alleged beef with Dancehall artiste Kaakie and more

On how she scooped the BET nomination for Best International Act: Africa. She disclosed:

”I think it is about what you do in your country, the grounds you have broken in your country”

When asked if she (MZ Vee) has broken any grounds she said..

”I definitely have…it is not normal for it to take this short a while to break grounds like I have. As soon as I started my first year, I had my first hit ‘Bokor Borkor’ which I recorded with Zeal of VVIP and then it shot up from there”

On if she thought she would win

”I  never have a doubt that I can win something, it doesn’t matter what kind of an award it is…Since I started singing I have put my everything into it, I have worked hard…. people don’t know but I have actually faced a few things with family to be here at this point, I have done things I never would have done to get to this point”

Well before you get the wrong ideas the ‘things’ she says is….

”This whole thing called music, standing in front of people to sing.. I’m a very reserved person, this whole thing is off who I would normally be”

On her relationship and alleged beef with Ghanaian Dancehall act Kaakie, she said..

”There is no reason I would sing a song to tarnish the image of anybody, I have said it at several places I am a very positive person…I have eight-year-olds listening to my music, I was just given a Kid’s Choice Award, I have very young people listening to me… I have my high school tour where I go to schools and say girls let’s support each other because this industry is so male dominated it is not  funny.. I think we should rather work together and try and get ourselves out there….There is no way I would waste time singing about anybody”

She also revealed that she is not a dancehall act but a musician. Guess MZ Vee doesn’t want to be put in a box.

Watch the full interview where she also chats about social media trolls, her relationship status, if she deserved the VGMA ‘Female Vocalist of The Year’ award and more
