Remember when Trey Songz had an amazing Kenyan experience when he was booked as a guest star for Coke Studio Africa last year? (click here if you missed it) Well it seems Jason Derulo also had an interesting time in the motherland. The American singer/songwriter is officially the international guest star for the 2017 Coke Studio Africa special episode dubbed ‘The Global Fusion Edition.’
The unveiling was done recently at a press conference held at the Stanley Hotel in Nairobi. In a report by Capital FM Kenya, the pop star disclosed that….
“Coke Studio Africa has been an all round inspiring and education experience, from recording original material to the covers. It’s really exciting to be here at this time when African music is taking over the world and I feel like I have been welcomed so well. Thank you to everyone who has helped made this process so amazing and confortable – I really feel like I am home…………….The creative and music process has been very cool. I think a lot of people don’t really know about the depth of African music and how it varies from country in country here in Africa and it’s been really cool for me to dive into the sounds of different artistes from different countries here.”
Fans should expect collaborations between Jason and many African stars including Joey B from Ghana, Dela from Kenya, Falz from Nigeria, Rayvanny from Tanzania, Bebe Cool from Uganda, Mr. Bow from Mozambique, Betty G from Ethiopia, Jah Prayzah from Zimbabwe, Shekhinah from South Africa, Locko from Cameroon, Denise from Madagascar and Producer DJ Maphorisa from South Africa
Cant wait to see what they come up with when the show airs in September.
