Move Over Fashionistas, Queen Elizabeth II has her London Fashion Week (LFW) steeze unlocked! For the time in her 65-year reign Her Majesty attended LFW on Tuesday, rocking a blue Angela Kelly ensemble detailed with tiny Swarovski crystals, Queen Elizabeth was seated front row (of course) next to Vogue’s very own Anna Wintour. Apparently a special cushion was even placed on her seat as she watched Richard Quinn’s show.
Wondering what sparked this visit? The 91-year-old monarch was there to present London-born fashion designer Richard Quinn with the very first Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. From now onward deserving new talent in the British fashion industry will receive this award on the final day of London Fashion Week.
British Fashion Council selected Richard Quinn for this award. Richard who described this event as ”a bit surreal” graduated from Central Saint Martins with a Masters degree in 2016 and has interned at Christian Dior in Paris and Richard James in the UK.
