Lupita Nyong’o will be producing and staring in a movie adaptation of Trevor Noah’s book Born a Crime. In 2016 Trevor Noah surprised many fans when he released his interesting memoir. The book detailed how his family struggled during the apartheid era in South Africa, his upbringing among a host others.
Now in 2018 Lupita Nyong’o will be playing Trevor Noah’s mother in Born a Crime’s movie adaptation. Fans of the Mzansi comedian might remember the memoir detailed how Trevor’s mama was shot in the head by his stepfather while returning from a church service in 2009, but survived.
According to Deadline, Trevor Noah is producing the project through his Ark Angel Productions alongside Norman Aladjem, Derek Van Pelt and Sanaz Yamin of Mainstay Entertainment, and Lupita Nyong’o.
