The ladies scored 1-0 against Cote d’Ivoire in the final game on Saturday at the Robert Champroux Stadium in Marcory ( a suburb of Abijan). Janet Egyir was the footballer who saved the day with her second minute strike.

Shout out to the first female Ghanaian coach Mercy Tagoe who took on this tough role after Mas-ud Didi Dramani resigned last month. Mercy can proudly add to her resume WAFU (West African Football Union) Women’s Cup winner.

Janet Egyir also took home the Golden Ball award, Cynthia Djohore picked the Golden Glove while Portia Boakye bagged the Golden Boot.
