Bloggers In Tanzania To Pay The Government Over $900 Every Year

Freedom of speech might not be so free after all for bloggers and online content creators working in Tanzania. The Tanzanian government recently initiated the Electronic and Postal Communications (Online Content) Regulation 2018 where any person(s) operating online radio stations, online television, blogs and any other online service will be charged with a $930 licensing fee.
But wait, there is still a catch, the Tanzanian Communications Regulatory Authority reserve the right to revoke a permit if an online platform uploads content that poses as a threat, incites crime or jeopardizes national security or public health and safety.
Are you in favor of this move by the Tanzanian Government?
