Winnie Mandela aka Nomzamo Winifred Madikizela-Mandela was finally laid to rest on Saturday 14 April, 2018 at the Fourways Memorial Park in Johannesburg, South Africa. The burial ceremony of the anti-apartheid activist was followed by a funeral service held at the Orlando Stadium.
South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, Politician, Julius Malema and Winnie’s daughter Zenani Mandela-Dlamini were among some of the personalities who paid tribute to the deceased.
However, Zenani Mandela-Dlamini’s heart-felt speech got many people talking. Zenani not only spoke profoundly about her mother but also called out the patriarchal system.
