Kenya’s Patel Dam Bursts: At least 41 Dead & Hundreds Forced To Flee Their Homes

This is definitely not the kind of news you would love to hear on a beautiful day but unfortunately heavy rains hit parts of Kenya on Wednesday night, which caused a dam to burst sweeping away many homes. At least 41 people have died and hundreds have no option than to flee from their residence. The event occurred at the Patel Dam in Solai, Nakuru county (120 miles northwest of Nairobi, Kenya).

40 people have been rescued so far according to the Kenyan Red Cross but many are feared to be trapped after officials said water and mud spilled out of the reservoir and submerged homes.

May God be with the victims
