Over the weekend, Kofi Okyere Darko popularly known as KOD made headlines when a congratulatory message he posted on social media for actor, John Dumelo ended up looking like a subtle diss to a section of women.
In case if you missed it, the media personality posted:
” Just got off the fone with my friend and Brother John Dumelo… My brother’s actually getting married and I’m invited! Unbelievably true oo!
Beautiful Woman too
Got me wondering why most men in the public eye settle for quiet/unknown women and not the ones all over
That could be a lessen for some of our sisters ooo
Men want women who can make a home and not be all over
I wish them well and can’t wait to see them on Saturday”
KOD was bashed for his comments. Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro was even among some of the women who called out the Starr FM radio host saying ”I pray that young women would be raised to believe that they can achieve their dreams (working hard, and being KNOWN) and being also the perfect bride for some man one day, this goes for the man too. A quiet and unknown woman does not equate a happy and successful marriage.”
A few days after the social media controversy, the radio host has come out to clear the air. KOD was on a radio show on his station (Starr FM) where he disclosed…
“I will never attack women, I always speak for women and I will continue to speak for women. I have all sisters and I have all daughters. I’m the last to speak against women. All my life I have spoken for women. The comment was not directed at female celebrities, they were not on my mind at all. It was more about the so-called slay queens and stuff like that”.
