Actress, Michaela Coel recently revealed a disturbing experience of how she was mistaken for a Virgin Atlantic cabin crew member during a flight.
What would you do if you were a black girl wearing a tracksuit and minding your business on a flight and suddenly someone alerts you to ‘clean up their mess and increase the flight temperature?’
This is what happened to the Chewing Gum star. In a tweet, Michaela Coel disclosed:
”Congratulations to Virgin Atlantic passengers once again! A lady just confused me for a hostess and asked me to clean up her mess and increase the flight temp. What I’m wearing… what the staff are wearing.”

Racism or an honest mistake? Checkout a few reactions from her fans below:
I was once locked into a building at work. This was my first job, I was dressed in a suit. A policeman came and described me as the cleaner when he radioed for help. Nothing wrong with cleaning but…….

So sorry and mad that happened to you. I suddenly envisioned Tracey (of Chewing Gum) responding + now I can't imagine what went down.

Call her a racist out loud. Public embarrassment & shaming is probably the best course with such people.

Unbelievable sad. And funny (forgive me but with you tweeting casually about it I can't help but to think it's funny in a way it is not supposed to be… when these kind of things happen to me I just laugh about them so…). But mostly sad and unbelievable.

I am a middle aged white male who can't walk through a Home Depot without being asked where to find something or "if we have". Maybe you just have an air of confidence and comfort while flying (like a staff person). Or not. Probably Not.
