All is set for Project Runway South Africa and media personality Lerato Kganyago has been announced as the host. The motherland version of the popular American fashion talent show is scheduled to hit our TV screens in July 2018.
Lerato who covers the June 2018 issue of Elle Magazine South Africa says she ”is going to bring a lot of excitement to the show.”
12 aspiring fashion designers have been chosen to compete in the maiden edition of Project Runway SA. The show will air on DSTV’s Mzansi Magic. Project Runway SA is put by Ndalo Pictures, the new TV and video division of Ndalo Media
Just like the US Project Runway, each episode will see contestants create garments restricted by a certain theme, material and time. However as they work, they will be mentored by one of Mzansi’s foremost designers, Gert-Johan Coetzee
Their creations will be judged by a panel of resident and guest judges, comprising of top fashion personalities, Elle South Africa editors, and industry experts, who will decide who is out – and who will stay to compete for a chance to showcase their collection at Paris Fashion Week 2019.
