Global Citizens has apparently set a goal of mobilizing $1 billion in new commitments for the world’s poorest, with $500 million of that set to impact the lives of 20 million women and girls worldwide.
In a report by AFP, Hugh Evans, the founder and CEO of this initiative, said…
“On every way that we measure outcomes – the number of citizens engaged, the number of policy outcomes that are achieved, the number of lives that are affected as a result of those policy outcomes – we believe it has the potential to be the most significant campaign we’ve ever been part of”
“The truth is the world is not on track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals unless there is greater political will”
In other related news, South Africa’s Queen Bee aka Bonang Matheba also announced on social media that she will be co-hosting the Global Citizen Festival.
