Drake Wins Best Rap Song At the Grammys But His Speech Gets Cut Off

Remember the line… “You want the truth….You can’t handle the truth?” It seems Drake’s acceptance speech at the 2019 Grammys may have been a little too honest/petty for the show’s producers.

The Canadian born rapper beat Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Eminem to win the Best Rap Song award for his smash hit track ‘God’s Plan.’

During his acceptance speech, Drake who reportedly refused to perform at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards revealed:

“We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. This is a business where sometimes it’s up to a bunch of people who might not understand what a mixed raced kid from Canada has to say, or a fly Spanish girl from New York, or a fly brother from Houston.”

The point is, you’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown. Look, if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain and snow, spending money to buy tickets to your shows, you don’t need this right here. You already won.”

However, the rapper’s speech got cut off on the telecast shortly after.

No sweat! We still got the message right? Check out what some peeps on twitter had to say:
