Gloria Sarfo, Funke Akindele & More Win At the 2020 AMVCA

The 7th Edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) just ended in Lagos, Nigeria. The event brought in some sass, fabulous African fashion and of course a couple of emotional moments.
Actress Gloria Sarfo made Ghana proud at the 2020 AMVCAs. The star who was the nation’s only nominee was awarded the Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or TV series for her role in the film: Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later.

The only bummer was that, due to the current health scare, Gloria could not live her best life in Lagos. Actresses, Beverly Naya and Bimbo Ademoye picked up the award on her behalf.
Speaking of Beverly Naya, her very first documentary titled Skin picked the award for Best Documentary. Skin explores and celebrates the beauty of the different shades of black.
Funke Akindele-Bello is winning back to back! For the fourth time, the Jenifa star picked up the Best Actress in a Comedy award.

Funny Bone, who picked up the award for Best Actor in a Comedy had some of us shedding a few tears. The comedian who lost his mum a few months ago, could not hold back his emotions when he dedicated his award to her.

Timini Egbuson and his big sis Dakore Egbuson-Akande also gave us a few tears of joy! The actress got to present the Best Actor award to her bro.

On the fashion front, our African celebs did not come to play! Big Brother Naija Pepper dem stars, Mercy Eke and Mike Edwards where both awarded the Best Dressed on the Red Carpet.
