Minister of Education, Detained at UGMC As He Awaits Coronavirus Test Results

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is currently in self isolation at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC). The Minister of Education who had apparently been experiencing symptoms undertook a voluntary Covid-19 test on Monday and is yet to receive his results.
Prior to this, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh had reportedly tested negative to Coronavirus on Tuesday 16th June 2020 after “feeling unwell.”

His recent voluntary test comes just days after visiting his Manhyia South constituency following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary elections.
In a press statement, it was revealed that ‘following his return, to Accra he still felt unwell, and decided to check himself in for further tests, including a second test for Covid-19″

Kwasi Obeng-Fosu, the Public Relations Officer for the Education Ministry also disclosed in an interview with Onua TV that the Minister promises to make his test results public and that Dr. Opoku Prempeh “went for voluntary testing and as a medical doctor; he did not want to mingle so he decided to self isolate.”
