Asamoah Gyan is saying goodbye to politics. The former captain of the Blackstars says he is no longer affiliated to any political party. He rather intends to focus on humanitarian work.
The former Sunderland star was previously named as the chairman of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s Youth and Sports manifesto sub-committee. The 38-year-old was recently spotted during NPP’s campaign walk in Akropong in the Eastern Region, last month.
In a post on X, Asamoah Gyan said he feels ”he hasn’t been fair to the youth and the people of Ghana,” and also disclosed that he will be withdrawing from active politics.
“I haven’t been fair to the youth and the people of Ghana. Henceforth I am not affiliated to any political party. I will continue with my humanitarian work and help the youth of Ghana in my own small way. Nothing political. I wish all the political parties a peaceful election on the December 7 elections. God bless our homeland Ghana. Thank you.” – Asamoah Gyan shared together with a full statement.
