Police Arrest Protestor Who Destroyed Bawumia’s Posters At National Cathedral Site

Ralph St Williams popularly known as Fellow Ghanaians has reportedly been arrested by the police. The activist was enroute to Kumasi when he was allegedly arrested at the Kotoka International Airport.

Ralph St Williams recently participated in the NDC led demonstration dubbed #EnoughIsEnoughDemo. He was captured in a viral video destroying several plywood boards featuring posters of the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In the video, the #FixTheCountry convenor claimed that the government had spent millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money on the construction of the National Cathedral but yet nothing to show for it.

Former #FixTheCountry lead convenor Oliver Barker-Vormawor believes Ralph’s arrest is unfair. In a post shared on X, Barker-Vormawor said:

“It appears that Ralph’s arrest stems from his peaceful participation in Tuesday’s ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration, where he highlighted government mismanagement by opening the National Cathedral pit, a site that has already cost Ghana 58 million cedis, for symbolic swimming.”

Oliver Barker-Vormawor went on to reveal that; “We believe this arrest has been strategically timed to suppress his participation in the upcoming #SayNoToGalamsey protest and to intimidate activists fighting for transparency and environmental justice. We strongly condemn this act and demand Ralph’s immediate release. Furthermore, we insist on an official apology from the authorities for this blatant attempt to silence critical voices. We will be sending a formal petition to the Inspector General of Police to address this situation.”

Do you think Ralph St Williams’ arrest is unfair?
