From Africa to the world! Tiwa Savage, Efya, Sarkodie, Victoria Kimani, Cassper Nyovest, Banky W, Falz among a host of other stars from the motherland are set to thrill fans at the 2017 edition of the One Africa Music Fest scheduled this weekend in the UK.
Guess all African artists around the globe must take note of this, don’t mess with Kaffy! The award-winning Nigerian choreographer apparently has had enough of music stars who disrespect her craft. She recently put out a video mainly targeting Afrobeats sensation Davido.
It is time to find out which of your favourite African stars bagged an award at this year’s edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA). The event was held on Sunday night (16 October) in Dallas, Texas.
Mr Eazi has obviously signed a record deal of a lifetime. Afrobeats superstar Wizkid recently unveiled the rising musician alongside Ghanaian music duo R2Bees and songstress Efya as new signees of his Star Boy Record Label.
While he plans on taking over the world with his unique African sound, Mr. Eazi stopped by Accra based radio station Live FM and talked all about how he was able to scoop the enviable deal, meeting American superstar Lauryn Hill plus is he a Ghanaian artiste or Nigerian artiste?
Ladies don’t lie, for one reason or the other some of you might be praying to find that future hubby before the 31st of December. Others just want to be the most talked about lady at the Christmas party.
For whatever reason, I have got a couple of stunning hairstyles to inspire you on your next visit to the salon this festive season.
The nominees for this year’s African Muzik Magazine Awards are out and this time Ghana has got several nominations in the bag. In case you are wondering what in the world is this award show about. Well then, let me school you, AFRIMMA is an award show held in the States dedicated to all genres of music in relation to the African Diaspora. The second edition of the award show would be hosted by Nigerian Comedian Basket Mouth and Uganda’s very own Ann Kasiime. No matter how long it may take, hard work would definitely be recognized. Now since 2015 is just 5 days away its only right we give credit to all those who put in work in 2014. So from now till New Year’s we would be checking out the show stoppers of 2014. Today’s post is for my fly African sisters who at some point “broke the internet” (I’m still trying to figure out who came up with that phrase)
Kaakie seemed have had the female dancehall scene in Ghana on lock until all of a sudden some chick named MzVee just took over. MzVee has had great 2014, having chart topping collaborations with Ghanaian heavyweights such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Lazy of VVIP fame. Continue reading Top 10 Female African Acts of 2014→
Talented Ghanaian singer, Efya is out with the visuals to her new single, Life. The video was shot and directed by Sony Addo, the same guy who directed her previous music videos; Nowhere To Run and Getaway. Continue reading New Music Video: Efya – Life→
The songstress who brought you hits such as Runaway and Ghetto love, Irene Logan is coming back into the music scene with a bang. She said in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that she is going to release a 20 track album next month. The only thing that saddens me about the interview is where she says ”I know Ghanaians would be disappointed in me for not living up to expectations after winning the maiden edition of stars of the future…..”
She also talked about pressure from her friends and fans and also her belief that her inability to shine despite several efforts she made could be attributed to how many people expected her to shine like Efya
The only thing I would say is either she has not lived in Ghana for a long time or she is trying to win our hearts. 90% of Ghanaians would always trash talk and compare, do not believe me? ask Asamoah Gyan. So if it disappointing us she is afraid of, then guess “she is on a long thing”. Most of us tend to forget all about your downs when you succeed. Hopefully this new album would do just that
